For the last year I have had severe problems with Orange. They promised me 8mb 18 months ago and it still has not happened. When I call them (expensive) they pass me from one idiot to another. I appear to know more about the technical aspects of broadband than they do. The worst thing is that they lie! They promise and they simply do not deliver. DON'T GO NEAR THEM. The positive reviews that you see have obviously been written by Orange!

Orange Broadband...fine until thing go wrong. ORANGE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DIABOLICAL..FACT!! Their whole customer service culture appears to be based on making money and keeping customers at all costs. Hence, YOU DO GET LIED TO, FOBBED OFF, BULLIED, TREATED LIKE AND IDIOT & RIPPED OFF (calls to tech support are 50p a min even when fault is likely to be Orange end). Orange is the worst company I've ever dealt with (just ahead of Quinn Direct insurance). If you think their customer service won't be an issue for you: think again. The shoddy and dishonest Orange service requires you to ring their expensive phonelines again, and again and again, for a multitude of reasons ranging from ridiculously slow speeds to faulty equipment. Why is the customer service so poor? Because they're disorganised? No chance. Orange knows their expensive phonelines are a great way to rip off their customers to line their own pockets. The company was behaving the same way in the Wanadoo days, and at this stage it seems perfectly obvious that they simply don't intend to improve the customer service because it's so profitable to them. Where oh where are the government regulators? If this was France, we'd be marching on the streets instead of being treated like dirt by companies like Orange.

Steer well clear! Went with Orange broadband as it was free with my mobile (which was just as dismal). The broadband is constantly throttled (well it feels like it anyway, broadband my ***) and I'll bet anything that my speed never gets anywhere near the measly 2Mb (is 6Mb if you're in one of Orange's chosen areas...). I am not saying this because I am bitter or have some sort of vendetta against Orange, I have just had a really bad experience with them for both "broadband" and my mobile and wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same trouble. I am pleased to say that I'm now no longer with Orange for my mobile (now with O2, soooooo much better) and will soon be taking my broadband business elsewhere. I'm seriously considering O2 as they offer a money back trial. This must mean that they're giving a good service, Orange would never do this as they'd never get and keep new customers, they have to ensnare them with a lengthily contract to stop them running away.

Had Orange for over a year (most of it not through choice). Without going into details which may raise my blood pressure and shorten my life span, I can honestly say, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. You want mis-selling, lack of understanding, ignorance, and general incompetence then you've chosen the right provider. Will never be back.

We gave orange a mac code 4 weeks ago, we finnally got connected (I use this loosly) on 26 Feb and still only getting speeds of upto 500kbs . Customer sevice is pathetic, tech service is even worse (I know more) but this happens when it is all in the middle if India. Lies, Lies Lies and more lies now told it will take upto 5 days to check the line. Going to citizens advice to get out of the contract. Avoid at all costs. Everyone with a problem write it down and post it to their head office it is the only way to get something done.

For 3 Months the connection was perfect - A joy to use ! . . . . Then it goes wrong - you have to pay to phone "customer services" who cant speak or understand simple english. Their scripts will have you checking your equipment repeatedly (to no avail) and comments like " I have a degree in mechatronics - i am not an idiot fail to cease the onslaught of useless, time wasting (+ expensive 7p min) rituals. After you confirm that your equipment is fine - and that BTs line is fine and woring at full speed, although your connection is not, you are told to dial another number "faults" (no sorry we cant connect you or do it for you)! Ring these people and they assure you the problem has already been sorted or will be sorted in the next hour . . but hell no! they ring you back 9 hours later to say there is no problem ! It must be me - i am mad ! - - - I MUST HAVE BEEN TO SIGN-UP WITH THESE MUPPETS ! Unless you are a masochist NO NO NO NO NO ! For the love of God NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I had about a year of everything working well. Then last Friday I got caught by some migration, my network was down all day. The helpdesk said, "it should be done by midnight"... Saturday, no network...helpdesk reply "the people dealing with migrations don't work weekends call Monday" Monday no network...helpdesk reply "try to move the livebox to other BT socket...check cable...etc etc"...final answer "we will esculate it and we will be back to you within 5 days" I told them the next call I will make will be to BT to swap my line and I'll swap my mobile...the answer..."we will be back within 5 days thats the best we can say" So, lousy service I didn't ask to be migrated over, I don't have any clue whats happening and no internet apart from in the office!

I cant understand the complaints... and poor speeds could be your phonelines. I get 7.5mb from a small village and Central Networks have just installed fibre optic lines that will support higher speeds and more users. However I am aware how poor BT's services is. After visiting a friend he asked me to see his BT connection speed. I checked out Speedtest.net and found that he was only getting 179kbps and 221 kbps upload - anyway I definately wont be moving to BT or any other provider. I have no complaints and I even run 4 webservers from home including Terminal Server Sessions experiencing no problems ever. I advise a simple 3 min test on SpeedTest and talking to other people in your area and finding the best provider n speed and service reliability. Isnt that the obvious way of ensuring you get what you expect as every area is different? I have also changed packages, called for customer support and never had to wait more than 1min and even the trainee on the help desks hav been help

Switched from AOL because of cost and bad customer service. Big mistake. AOL was not good but Orange takes the biscuit for awfullness. May be a bit cheaper but service doesn't excist in their language. Impossible to get to talk to anyone in some sort of authority, been made out a liar when stating the number and duration of my calls to them and my mention of 'ring back promises'. Promises of refund and compensation for the disastrously slow connection are not kept (Broadband speed around 0.5 Mb at the best of times). Their customer service does not desreve the name. Their service is - at best - a joke. Their 'packedge deal' was not woth the print on the screen. Their promises are wothless. Don't make the same mistake I made, DON'T GO TO ORANGE !!!!

Just coming to the end of my 18 month contract and I am leaving to an ISP with a customer support that supports. Everthing seems ok until something goes wrong and you have to contact the support team. I spent about £20 plus on one problem only to be told to take my equipment up into the attic where the BT master socket was. I explained that I had just had both knees replaced and I would struggle, to which the reply was "get the wife to do it" and then they hung up. He did ask me what an attic was?

Infuriating, patronising, incompetent, dishonest are a few words i'd use to describe Orange. I have been a customer for 5-6 years since they were Freeserve and it was great until Wanadoo sold to Orange, since then my connection is unstable, slow and absolutely useless. In the evenings my maximum time before im cut off or dropped is 5-10 minutes and im nowhere near being a high-rate user. Had my problems for 3 months, in that time Orange have failed to do anything despite a lot of expensive calls to their customer "support" line which is essentially useless. Their tech support are clueless and none of them know anything about techincal issues, i have probably spoken to all of them by now. In a nutshell, avoid these cowboys, they are completely hopeless.

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF ORANGE AS A BROADBAND SUPPLIER. They are dreadful the worst company I have ever dealt with the only think thats makes it worse I have to be with them till next year or pay over £200 to stop the poor service so please please please DO NOT GO WITH THEM. Customer service well whats that they haven't a clue about computers I am not sure they know how to switch one on let alone run one. As for the serves they are CRAP (if there was an opition for bigger letters I would use it) connection is mega slow never got above 2mb on an 8mb line. Save your self time and money and heartache and avoid this service at all cost

Based on my experience - whatever you do, don't do business with Orange. If you need to contact them take my advice, record your calls and get the name of the person talking to you. If you talk to them they will deny things have happened based on their computer system, or rather based on what the last Orange employee typed into it. They make promised that are almost never kept. THey all appologise for the apalling customer care, they promise to put things right, then .... nothing! Tape your calls for your own protection. Put it in writing to head office, and find a company who knows how to treat customers.

NOT EVEN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!!! Save your blood pressure, time and money and steer well clear of Orange. Words are just not enough to explain the trully disgraceful customer service incompetance I have had to put up with. No broadband for 3 weeks now. No explanation. Closed the support call with no fix or explanation. Rude unhelpful call center staff. Continually left on hold for several minutes at a time on the 50p/min techincal support number. Refused to terminate contract without paying massive cancelation fee. DON'T TRUST ORANGE. THEY WILL SCREW YOU!!!!

Everything was fine until one day the connection went off without warning. Several calls to their expensive 0870 number and it was established that I was being 'migrated' to a 'better service'. Promises came and went, every one as hollow as the last and when it did start working again, the performance if anything seems worse not better. OK, so I should have changed over earlier since starting my online business, but we are all creatures of habit and all was ok before. Now I am battling to get my MAC code out of them. Be warned, dear reader, to Orange, you are nothing.

Livebox has never worked from day one for phone calls over VOIP. I manage an IT support team so have some knowledged, I remoted into the box where it stated VOIP disabled. Obviously a problem with the set-up of the box. 12 months later and more e-mails and call than I care to remember I still get some poor guy in India, have you done a factory reset sir (problem in itself as I have 4 wireless devices and need to pair them everytime). Keep sending me replacement cables, as if magically they will change my settings and enable VOIP? Speed, pay for 8 get 2, Orange advice, don't use the intenet and you will have greater speed, priceless advice. Got my MAC code, any siggestions?

Originally signed up to Wanadoo. Since Orange took over I have had no end of problems. Initially a few disconnects here and there, but over time it has gotten much, much worse. Now I'm lucky if I can stay connected for over 30 minutes before the service cuts out and is down for another couple of hours. I intend to change ISP's this week, I suggest you save your self the hassle and leave Orange Broadband well alone.

Very poor service, they promise to call back and never do. I can't even blame any call centre in india......... these idiots are here in this country and can never give u an answer regarding any issue, have been with them for 6 months and left. Never sent the livebox as promised and the service kept dropping out. Finally wrote to headoffice and they offered an apology. Do keep track of whom u speak to and ask for their personal extension number. make complaints and hopefully they will improve. STAY AWAY if possible.

I've been with Freeserve/ Orange for many years, converted to 8meg earlier this year and then the problems started. Speeds down to as little as 0.7meg, line dropping at peak time sometime upto 30 times an evening. Service centre staff who can only read off a screen, technical centres who are unable to help, last Sunday the line dropped all together, with a ppp server error. Orange will not give me a time frame in which it will be repaired and apparently it has been going on for 2 months. Leaving to try another company, which I get the feeling is what Orange want!!

don't touch the, Ok for the first year, because basically nothing went wrong, but when it does.... Broadband connection failed 3 weeks ago, and cannot get it back however many times I ring up, go through same old reset and crap, and then they tell me they have to perform a line check or some other excuse, and I have to ring back in 2 or 3 days . then its another excuse. I know its a problem with the Livebox, as everything else works, phone in same socket, luckily had a second ISP as backup on dialup, so nothing to stop it connecting. 3 weeks!!! I'm tearing my hair out but I'm paying for nothing. I'm off to a new provider as soon as I can get the MAC

CRAP, CRAP and I am polite. Words cannot express my anger at the customer services with this company.. I cannot believe that they can get away with this level of service. have had to speak to "Technical advisors" many times and they are not technical whatsoever they follow a script. Worse, I have never been lied to so many times by one service. the amount of times i was asked to call back because a system wasn’t working or else… How many time I have been told that the advisor will personnaly into it and will give me a call back and never did. Now they are holding me hostage and threaten me to take 330 pounds if I want to cancel a service I never had. I have never been connected and I have been waiting for 3 weeks.

I wish that I had found this wedsite earlier, then I would not have fallen into the Black (Orange) Hole. No need for me to repeat all the complains already expressed. Orange doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities at all. Overseas call centres are the worst. On a rare occasion I got through a technical support staff in Middlesborough and he accidentally revealed that there are only 5 of them in the UK call centre; and all other calls are routed to their overseas call centre (and I think we all know where that is). If you are looking to change ISP ... DO NOT TOUCH ORANGE!!!!! p.s. I am still without broadband connection for 2 months already.

HAH! Some people getting up to half a meg ? You lucky lucky b******s !! Been with the company for over 14 years, and like most others, no probs, untill ORANGE rebrand. Got "upgraded" from 1mb to "alledged" 2.5mb, HAH try 127kb constantly. Four BT engineers, one of which wired his own BT box up wrong before he left, and many many many hours on the phone (BIG TIP, choose the customer service choice on the phone menu, and you get through to England at least) and all I've had is lies and promises, and been unable to talk to ANYONE in authority, and finally got the service charges dropped for the last 8 MONTHS. BUT have a nice virgin cable man coming in about 20 mins time, to put us in our nice SOLID 4mb service. STUFF Orange, will be cancelling the service tommorrow (out of contract) and will be writing EXTREMELY snotty letters to all and sundry at their HQ. APPALING, IGNORANT, LYING USELESS INCOMPETANT AND WORTHLESS - one less customer for them to lie to. AVOID LIKE THE PLEAGUE.

Closed my broadband account by letter to Orange back in September 2006 as we moved house. Now their collections Dept are chasing me for ££ for a service I cancelled 10 months ago saying they never received the cancellation letter _ they also added that you can only cancel by phone (bull****). Tried to contact their customer services who stated they couldn't help as their system is down again! Big suprise! Lousy company, lousy service. The future ain't with Orange that for certain.

After a supposed attempt at bandwidth upgrade, i had a an increase of 2Mb, then without reason or notice cut me off as they say i must be having problems! Many phone calls later(absolutely appalling support, going through tech by numbers!) and a customer service person who wet her self laughing when i tried to explain how bad things had become, she agreed and said she would not blame me for leaving as it's happening all the time! No disrespect to the Indian tech center they just do as there told but they did not have a clue, now two live boxes later they have just lost my custom and i can assure you when my Mobile is up on contract it's bye bye. Orange why don't you pay a little attention to whats going on with your buisnes, just not good enough! How much do the live boxes cost Orange? I've now got two that i assume work but have become Bauhaus bookends! The futures not bright with orange, more like the lights about to go out with orange.

I am an IT Communications Consultant and would like to share my experience with Orange broadband. I signed up with their broadband package as they were offering a £5 on top for 8Mbps deal. From the start I had problems. They had taken over the line from my previous provider but had failed to send me a router. Fortunately, I had a router and all I needed was to set it up with the username/password. 5 days later after speaking to tech support, one of the foreign guys managed to bypass his instruction booklet and gave me my username and password. Online at last. 2 months later, my Livebox finally arrived. During the interim my line has been slow, unreliable and as we speak I have no connection. PPP server down. Called support, asked to reset the router 8 times, umpteen line checks, still no joy even after explaining to them that I have tried with other routers and USB ADSL modems with the same problem and that it was a server/line problem. They really are muppets. Advice - STEER CLEAR

I love how blinkered some people are. despite the fact that EVERY broadband company will have the same issues with some customers, people always say that thier supplier is the worst. The funniest I hear is "its all gone crap since orange took over". All of this since a) orange REBRANDED (not took over) on 01/06/2006 yet we still continue to hear this over a year later. if you have had issues since then, why havnt you called us? it makes me laugh. And yet b) no changes have been made since the rebrand. (unless you count the continuous changes of staff at the lower levels that all businesses have) I do give credit to Slappyrose (noted 12/04/07) who actually appreciates that we are only doing our job and doesnt take it out on the next person who answers the phone. someones got thier head screwed on properly

Really can't understand all the moaning. Is it that the satisfied customers don't even read this page? Signed up to Orange several months back. Package worked straight out of the box. Have always had high speeds and no outages. Recommended them to my next door neighbour who could not get a connection. They phoned help line and got a very helpful technician who talked them through the connection process and had them on line in two minutes.

Stupidly I changed the package at the beginning of June from £17.99 to £14.99 and became locked into a new contract. As of writing I have had no broadband. £££££s and £££££s of calls to their 'help centre staff' have resulted in frustration and high blood pressure. I agree they lie. 3 different staff told me different stories about line checks carried out on the line. One admitted that a line check had been carried out incorrectly and I pointed out that each time I am told to call back in 24hrs. So, on this occassion it was a complete waste of time and money doing so as the test wasn't correctly done. This account is in another property which is used only occassionally. I use Tiscali normally in my home and it has been fault free for years! (crossing everything as I type!!!) All ISPs have faults to deal with I am sure but it is the customer support which really means more than inflated speeds and false claims. Orange turns out to be a 'lemon' amongst the other players. Go elsewhere!!

I have the same experience with Orange technical support line. Their call centres being in India and their Indian accent does not bother me because I am an Indian myself, so I can understand their accent. The actual problem is that they tell lies, make promises which they know that they do not need to keep, because the next time the same customer rings, someone else from perhaps some other call centre will be answering who will have no idea of the previous call made by that customer and/or the promises made to him/her. And this process goes on and on, because Orange do not have any central management structure. The company just have employed several quacks/cowboys in India on low salaries who have to cope with angry customers from all over the world, so they end up telling lies, making false promises to keep on working on their low-paid jobs! This is the way Orange is escaping from employing UK people and paying them minimum required wage set by the law!!!

Have been a Freeserve and Wanadoo customer for a long time with no problems whatsoever. Orange are a different matter, TEN WEEKS without Broadband since I moved to the 'wonderful' Livebox. Each time I call the tech support line I have to go through the same routine time and time again before I'm told things will be sorted in five days. I'm still waiting Orange I managed to speak to a supervisor whose attitude was a disgrace. When I said I wished to cancel my contract as Orange had not supplied the service I had paid for, I was told to pay a £180 cancellation fee!! Do not be tempted to join Orange. Go elsewhere

I had been with freeserve, wanadoo, orange for 5 years now and find the level of service abismal. like all these likeminded people thought they were getting a good deal and service paramount to non have been sorely mislead. I have the 8 meg connection apparently and i am lucky if i recieve 500k most times. I am a great believer that you should get what you pay for and unlimited should be unlimited. Orange should {1}have respect for customers {2] have a good product knowledge and have the decency to be honest. {3}supply a product which is on par with what they are advertising and {4}A half decent call centre{english} .Im sorely dissapointed with orange as it has the potential to be the best but is let down by poor quality service and goods. I am looking forward to changing my service provider but dreading asking for my mac code,as ive heard all the horror stories associated with it.

Absolutely hopeless - it may be free but I wouldn't recommend unless there is a drastic improvement in service. - Frequent and lengthy service outages - inadeqate and expensive customer support (50 per minute!!) - very slow service (much slower than my previous providers so definitely not an issue with my line) Orange need to either (i) sort themselves out; or (ii) get out of the broadband business as this shambles will surely turn customers against them in their other areas of business.

i was left offline for 3 months after orange accidentally disconnected me, hours of expensive calls to their pathetic helpline brought nothing but lame excuses and broken promises, when i was eventually reconnected i bombarded the head office with letters to demand recompense for the helpline charges, eventually i got a reply due to the fact i kept sending a copy of the letter to the managing director marked private and confidential. i've got to send my phone bills in and they say i will get reimbursment. GET WRITING! ONE COPY TO CUSTOMER SERVICES AND ONE TO THE M.D. DON'T GIVE UP , MAKE THEM PAY FOR THIS PATHETIC SERVICE. i cannot wait for my contract to expire so i can tell them to shove their excuse for a service where the sun dont shine.

Had no problems for 2 months now its all gone wrong. My upto 8meg connection has been capped to a half meg for some reason. Fair use maybe? The problem is the technical support, untrained operators reading from scripts. They LIE to get you off the line if they can't help (which is always) - I was told BT outage (LIE), call 150 and speak to BT (LIE, 150 is Oranges helpdesk number!!!), and obviously disabling my antivirus is going to affect my sync speed (?!?!?!). They have a poor grasp of english and an even poorer grasp of broadband and how it works. I kept explaining the problem to them for them to ignore me and run through scripts which had nothing to do with my problem. Favorite line seems to be "if you wait 24hrs it'll be ok" which is basically i can't help, call someone else. £5 a month ontop of my phone bill seemed good value. The stress is not worth it. So yes tech suport - ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING. I will be getting my MAC code and going to a provider with UK customer service.

Dont go near Orange Broadband. The connection is slower than 56k dial up and I have been disconnected for days at a time. The tech support centre is in India and they have no idea what they are talking about. Complete waste of time.

Orange what can I say, crap from them start! Line drops, i need the interent for work and this is by far the worst broadband service i have ever had! Don't bother with orange try NTL now Virginmedia, should be very good in theory since it will be a fibre connection to your home, so don't need to worry about a nosiy phone line. Stay away from Orange unless you want hours of downtime and the worst broadband service you can get!!!

I started my internet experience years ago with a freeserve dial-up connection, absolutely no worries, everything worked fine from the off. This changed to wanadoo - what a silly name - and again no issues with service or tech support. Upgraded to wanadoo broadband got a lesser service from tech support - wait ages for them to answer, then get some numpty who knew less than me (and I can barely spell computer) speed wasn't an issue though although and NOT MANY outages, Then ORANGE came on the scene and one disaster followed the next; unable to send emails sometimes for hours on end although system says "connected to server" then comments such as 'wrong username or password' error messages 'please check your connection settings and try again' ANYTHING except "we can't cope with the traffic" Now I get more outages than connections, I'm lucky to be able to stay online for more than 20 consecutive minutes, evenings are even worse. Sending emails is an entirely random exercise.Orange=CRAP

I was with Freeserve then Wanadoo for over four years with no problem. I switched to the Orange £5 month package as I changed my mobile phone and thats when all of my problems started. I have cancelled my contract with Orange now as I was without broadband for over 6 weeks. I must have rang the joke centre, I mean call centre about forty times only to be told it would be fixed in 24 hours or 48 hours or 5 days. They have no clue what they are talking about. Every time you ask to speak to a supervisor they say that there isn't one available and even if you do (once) speak to one they are just as useless as the call centre staff. I am now in limbo waiting for them to untag my line so I can use another ISP. They are by far the worst company I have ever known for customer service and support. You have been warned, stay away from Orange or you will regret it!!!!

A terrible decision, one which I bitterly regret. I'm stuck with around 300k, no phone service and paying 19.99 for a lousy 'service', with abyssmal tech and customer 'support'. Steer WELL AWAY..........BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Deciding on Orange Broadband for my internet needs was a terrible decision. I strongly do NOT recommend orange!! They are very unreliable, technically inept, slow and quite frankly total liers. The customer service is also a joke, operators have very poor technically knowledge and english language skills. Oh and if you get their 'livebox' wireless setup be prepared for some trouble. I'm quite technically minded and experienced with computers and I also have two Science degrees but it still took me a week to figure the damn thing out. I give orange 1/10, truely the worst

ORANGE ARE A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME! I have been offline for over 4 weeks and no end in sight. Their call centre staff are useless they just havent got clue. If I would swear on here I would. I have had 4 line tests, they have signed me up to a contract against my will, their foreign call centres are even worse! All I have had in four weeks of stress is lies, broken promises and complicting info. I have now had to plead to get my MAC code!

I started with Freeserve when they DID offer a service. Now it's just a joke. Intermittant connection, speeds a fraction of what they should be, email service that doesn't work and ill informed support. Why anybody would want to sign up with them, I cannot fathom. AVOID

Orange is a waist of time and money! I wouldn't go near them if they paid me 5 pounds a month. I've been waiting 2 months to be connected, and have been told one lie after the next about so called activation in 7 working days! External complaints commission have their hands full with me and orange. Time to move on

I'v had lots of line tests, polite (but expensive) phone calls and still stuck on "Invalid username or password", which really means you cant connect to their server for an unknown reason. The latest solution they've offered is to sign me up for a "New Account". Er... What?? Another account to sort out at £14.99 a month on top of my existing £14.99 a month? Mac code please ...

I would not recommend Orange to anyone, I have now been without internet connection for over two weeks. I have made 20 calls to their 'support team' (at my own cost) and had no help what so ever. You are sent from call centre to call centre and have to explain your problem each time. They said that it would bge sorted within 24hrs at first and then 72hrs and so on and so on with each call. Aviod these cowboys at all costs!

Wish I had read these reviews months ago before I started phoning Orange to get my broadband working. I too suffered the hours of so called customer service at my own expense. Initally they refused to even investigate the problem because I was using a "third party" router. Eventually, a dozen phone calls later, I told them I wanted to cancel my subscription, and they said they would "lie" to their technical team and say I had a Livebox so that I could get the fault looked at. But really they were lying to me. Nothing was done. I had no internet for over a week, and all they could say was, call back in 48 hours for an update. No, I finally said, I'm not wasting another penny phoning up to be fobbed off by you lot. Give me my MAC code now! But where do I go from here? Any suggestions? What about BE?

We started with Freeserve Dial Up which was slow but fairly reliable. We changed to Broadband under Wanadoo just over 12 months ago and have consistently had problems with the connection dropping out. The Indian `experts` only seem able to follow a script, anything else is beyond them and their version of the English language is a major problem. Twice I have spent money to have a computer engineer check our system for faults which don't exist and I have now kept a log of the times when the service either drops out every few minutes or just won't connect. It is clear from this that the worst service is at the busiest times; after school, mid evening and late Saturday evening are always bad. This strongly suggests a lack of capacity but even when I wrote to Orange with these results all I got was a standard reply suggesting what I should do to correct the fault. What I am going to do is vote with my feet and leave this third rate company.

Absolutely dreadful, worst consumer company I have ever dealt with. Have had freeserve account since mid-2003 on ISDN home highway line, huge problems with initial creation of broadband account in 2005, line 'upgraded' to 8M in July 2006 and ever since then has been unstable and unreliable, frequently dropping and never attaining even 2M speed. Technical support/customer service moronic, rude and unhelpful, incapable of liaison with each other or of proper management of escalated complaints, at times downright dishonest in information given. Now in process of cancellation, don't sign up with them, please!

This is my last email to them Good day Today is the 21st of April. And I am still waiting for my call back that was promised to me at least 10 days aho. I am now on on dial-up. The dial up you so politely went and cut off, because you have connected my broadband, ha ha ha You must have connected at your house because I do not have broadband. I am now on dial up with Tascali because I refuse to pay you one more cent by going into another contract with you. I have not had 1 (one) day of broadband, wireless or talk or any kind of service that I signed up for on the 22 of March. Paid for on the 28th of March and was told I would be connected on the 5th .Now don't tell me to contact customer’s services to technical service.I have spent a fortune on phone calls to them and all I get is promises of call backs that never happens. You are a nightmare from hell. Why not do the decent thing and cancel my contract, admit that you are useless. and refund all my money. trish edsell

Edvard Munch had it right. If you haven't signed yet - don't. DON'T! You will surely assume that these stories are exaggerated for effect. NO! They're NOT! Five weeks on, I've never had one seconds connection. It seems less likely now than it did after one week. The surreal procedures described by others are right on the mark. It feels like it couldn't happen - its so bad. There must be some legal action we can take. Anyone know a nasty lawyer who will get into Orange? Even the bad publiciy of a court case would satisfy me - would warn off other suckers by the thousand. I'll contribute if anyone gets something going.

They are awful. If you don't use the livebox they don't want to help you at all, and that only connects to 2 PC's (one wireless). The service was ok for a while then dropped to half a meg and there's no way to get it sorted. Calling them leads you into a spooky kafka-esque nightmare world of confused Indians who have no idea what you are talking about. You really get the feeling that you just cannot find help no matter who you get passed to. I want what I pay for. We should all go to trading standards. Start a petition. Grr...
