You can't use an O2 PAYG voucher to top up your mobile broadband, instead it has to be done online via the O2 web site. It's a bit of a pain, but right now O2 operate their mobile broadband slightly differently to other providers.

when you go onto the mobile broadband and you want to top up your dongle you have to go pay it with credit or debit card! How do you top it with a voucher ?

O2 doesn't have a voucher scheme - it's just debit or credit cards I'm afraid. You can get all the info on all the mobile broadband suppliers from our topping up guide. -

Clive Dunbar , You Should be able to top-up by phoning the O2 top-up number from your mobile Phone and entering the associated sim card phone number for your Internet Dongle.

Kaylie, I'm having the same trouble. The 02 network shows good coverage but my browser page wont load and while it is trying to load it is taking my money!! Can anyone got any suggestions please? I have also uninstalled the 02 manager and re-installed, but to no avail.

I had these problems when I bought my o2 fob as I thought I could top it up wih a voucher but found out I couldn't. I activated a topup card to the Internet fob but it didn't work. I phoned the customer service and they kindly exchanged the money from the card to my Internet fob, but they did say they will only do it this one time. they should have the option to do it by voucher but the only way is via debit or credit card..
maybe oneday o2 might relise that the voucher would be good to use aswell as a card..

Hi everyone
As my case is a little complicated I wont go into to much detail, I needed to topup via topup card or voucher and as you know we arent able to for some reason, so I got an O2 pay'n'go SIM registered it in a spare phone then registered the topup card to the SIM, once I had done it all I put the SIM in the dongle. The SIM gives me 500mb each month when I put £15 on it and each time that runs out I just buy an addon via using the O2 site which is 500mb too. plus I also had to change the logging in settings via the connection manager. The only down side to all this is I'm now getting half the usage limit of 1 and a half gig for my 15 quid rather than the 3 gig the dongle usualy provides.
Come on O2 we know you already have the best service, it makes good sence to allow the usage of topup cards for our dongles. -

i was told by staff in asda that i could top up via voucher and obviosly cant and my mobile is o2 contract so have wasted 15 pound is it possible to get this back if i go to an asda store

i wish i had never bought this. the 3 was miles better. i cant top up by voucher and i don't wanna top up by card. i wish they would jus sort of chnage it so that you can top up by voucher.

they are there to serve you and they need your money, I move to network that offers best service.use sim free devices then they cannot Dictate to you.

I was sold a voucher to use for my 02 mobile broadband. I couldn't find where to put the voucher number in so I had to buy more on my card. Really pissed off now because I have just read that you can't top up by voucher even though I was told in the shop I could. What should I do now? Will I be able to get my money back?

i was told by a womanin the O2 shop that u cud order a o2 card on the internet and top up my dongle but i cant find them i dont have credit and had to get my mums cards to top up 1st time i cant do this all the time and some of you have said that it doesnt work can someone help. i have bin told my bank card wont work but its a debit card im really confued help!xx

2 all O2 users i'm in sympathy with your thanks for sharing your knowledge, ie your O2 experiences to date 2011,, reading through the long lists O2 posts and comments,, i'm = 2U as also been one in an army of disgruntled O2 customer who lives in pure hope, there may be one real person in O2 who actually cares if this stigma of growing opinion, in lack of good service,, is worth having if they are to have any future, as a company

How came i brought my daughter a 02 dongle at xmas and she has brought vouchers from a o2 shop in Ashford kent and she DID top up her dongle with the vouchers and know they say that they never have done this??? My daughter do's not have a debtit card so how can she know top up ????

Bought a dongle & was assured that I could top it up easily using my Australian C/C so now it's about to run out & guess what? Bloody thing's about to become as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike! O2 won't accept online topups unless you have a UK credit card :(

I topped up my PAYG Broadband ( for my Netbook no dongle no O2 Manager ) on website .https://mobilebroadbandaccess.o2.co.uk/services/login.. paid 10 GBP via Credit Card ..it leads me through till the end , I got a confirmation text to my mobile . Broadband was working 5 Min then it stopped. I checked the Broadband manager on web and it said no data available. I chatted with an O2 Guru and he said I've to wait 12 hr ..confusing . What can I do at next .. complaining on O² ...?

PAYG re dongle --- this worked fine for 18mths - 2years, up to a few months ago. My account statement was displayed automatically and I always knew were I was during the month. Now everything has gone to pot, it is so frustrating trying to pay, don't o2 want my business ? Have I got to start looking around for another service. What's happening ?
This forum wants updating as it just shows that old problems never seem to be resolved
which, in turn, shows disregard of customers frustrations.

Never had such a useless and wrongly informed amount of advise as from o2 . Dongle sold to me as easy to top up, Shop aware my address is in Australia. So absolutly no way whatsoever to top up dongle, and now stuck with 60 pounds of credit. What a cr@p and unprofessional experience with o2 adn argos who totally misrepresented the product
