TalkTalk free broadband from Carphone Warehouse is of course only free if you take out one of the Talk Talk landline bundles - you pay a monthly line rental and price plan charge, but it still works out great value.

I have made the biggest mistake that has costed me a lot of money and time. Broadband last two minutes, although phone line works probably because it's bt. the broadband is actually not free i get charged for calling suport which is some where in india. their wireless router they sold to me won't work properly I have to run up and down the stairs to refresh it every 5minutes. the wireless support numbers don't get answered machine gives a premium rate number to ring thats mean huge phone bill. I never received my welcome letter. it was three weeks before i knew that i was connect but i rang all the time enquiring about it but given wrong info 'Wait for the letter' that never came. I got over charged on the wireless speed 54mbs and yet the same goes for half the price on the open market!SOME OFFERS ARE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THIS IS ONE OF THEM

BEWARE!! AVOID!! Talk Talk looks like a great deal, but it suffers from appalling customer service. My phone line and broadband connection have completely died, and I have been three weeks without any service whatsoever. There are long queues to talk to a customer service representative and when I do get throught, they are still unable to say when they will fix the line! Meanwhile I am paying for a service that is not being delivered.

The service has to be experienced to believe. The 1st line technical support exhaust their technical knowledge by answering the phone. I’m sure it must have taken extensive training to achieve such poor customer service, no one could be that bad naturally. Having established that they can do nothing for you, or anyone else I should think, they then validate your number which enables you to ring 2nd line technical support. They are a little better and do try but when I had to ring back I discovered that my number was no longer validated so was re-directed back to 1st line technical support. I was off line for over two weeks and never got a satisfactory explanation as to what had gone wrong. After something like 12 hours on the phone over a 10 day period I was told that they would have to arrange for a BT engineer to make a home visit. It took them 3 days to get back to me with a date which was for the following week and then somewhat mysteriously my broadband started working. I phoned technical support but it took me over an hour(no exaggeration) to explain that my broadband was working again. As I couldn’t find out what they had done I was reluctant to cancel the BT engineer but was aware that if he came and found no fault I would be charged for his time, about £80 I believe. My real worry is that as no one knows why my broadband stopped working there could still be an underlying problem. I just cannot understand how it can be possible to provide such poor service

Oh My God! Walk away! Do NOT sign up with JokeJoke or you will REGRET IT! TalkTalk Features include: - appallingly unreliable connection which will drop up to 30 times an hour - cheap router which will need to be hard reset and PC hard rebooted to regain a connecton - no guarantee that you WILL regain a connection; if the network brain fart was bad enough it could be hours (48 in some instances) - excellent customer disservice which will tell you: "Well the broadband service IS FREE, so you can't expect it to be premium quality." "I'm sorry I don't have a manager." "Yes our technical support agent will call you within 24 hours" (4 times promised - never happened) "Click....." (TT agents hung up on several occasions or the queue dropped the call after 1 hour+ of waiting) - 18 month contract so you have plenty of time to regret it Seriously! Pull your own teeth with a monkey-wrench before you sign up for this crap!

Terrible!!! I am in discussion with them at the moment trying to be released from contract...they want £70 to do this. They are not providing the service I bought from them, so I am arguing that I do not need to pay £70 as it is them who have broken the contract. Slow broadband that cuts out constantly or does not connect. Landline goes dead or has strange noises on it stopping me from hearing all of my conversations, most of the time. Paying for caller display each month which is a service I require, but that talktalk are unable to reliably provide. I am supposed to be okay with all this as I am informed they are nationwide problems. STAY CLEAR OF THEM!!!!

Our experience was that TalkTalk was the worst broadband package we have ever tried. For these 18 months (until we could get out of the contract) we have been stuck with a connection that either doesn't work or works at a speed slower than that of a dial-up modem. The Customer Service is utterly woeful; while you pay exhorbitant amounts to be connected to them, they simply read out from a pre-scripted list and don't know how to fix any of the problems. The first day that our 18 months was up we were gone to another provider. Avoid!

If you like stress, get Talk Talk. I contacted them to tell them I could not send or receive e-mails, to which I got told "if you had no broadband, you wouldnt get any any way." Only after threatening to pull the plug did I get so speak to someone who could speak English. Every time you phone up, they transfer you to another number and each time you have to give all your personal details again. It ended up costing me a fortune, but on the 18th Feb I return to BT. Cant come quick enough.

I used to be with NTL... and Talk Talk make NTL's Customer Services seem award winning... The Broadband is weak, it drops out whenever it wants, and customer services insist its my computer... genius- except that its the wireless router that has disconnected (and wont reconnect without a hard reboot) not my computer. The Telephone line seems ok, that is until i get a voicemail message... at which point i loose the ability to reliably call anyone until i have saved or deleted my message - which would almost be manageable if it wasn't for the fact that calling voicemail to retrieve my message is a phone call... which if you remember has now become unreliable! Worst decision i ever made!

Pathetic service! Broadband is only occasionally at max speed, mostly I download at dial-up speed (approx 5KBps). Surfing the internet isn't always guaranteed as ALL pages sometimes refuse to load.. I'll be putting in another complaint to Ofcom about this, I urge you all to do the same! TalkTalk didn't even contact my old ISP like they said they would, they just added their service to my line "because TalkTalk don't use BTs equipment, they use their own, and that's why they can give people broadband faster than anyone else!" If it's possible to get out of this 18 month contract I'm gonna fight to change over to someone decent! I now HATE TalkTalk! What a waste!!

whew, i seem to have got away with it, i changed over from bt to talk talk ,phone line part, at the start of 2007, with the three month contract, kept my bt broadband, then i looked in the forums and saw what was going on with the talk talk broadband, end of three month contract, back to bt, they're not great but thank god, from what i have read i was lucky to get out alive, and i also notice on the forums that out of 100 posts, three talk talk employees think that, carphone warehouse / talk talk, are great and will never let you down and will always be there for you and we are just a phone call away from you at £** so come on down you just won the lottery,,,, ok i'm going to bed now, cya.

TalkTalk customer service - what customer service? I was approached to join Sep07 and nothing but hastle fome every person I have talked to. They have removed me from the order queue twice and then needed a new MAC key number from my previous provider OneTel their sister company which they then mixed me up with and cancelled my contract unbeknown to me! Someone told me there was no complaints dept when I had supposedly just been transferred to them. Only last Saturday I was asked which Modem I had requested! It had not been ordered! I have had so many dates for broadband connection I've lost count! I even had a lady say that she was Modem Co-ordinating Manager and that she would be looking after my account! That was weeks ago so why did she not realise it had not been ordered? Some looking afterthat was! I am now seriously thinking of CANCELLING . Like everyone else it seems loads of wasted time waiting on phones and then problems again afterwards.

This is probabaly the worst broadband package ever. For the main reason that everything about it is very poor. The broadband itself will only work when it feels inclined (less than 50% of the time). Then the customer service is abysmal and you have to actually pay to argue to someone who does not help your problems at all Go elsewhere

ordered talk talk way back in may 06 got it 3 month later, i was one of the few who got conned with the upto 8mb misselling quote, i was stuck on a 2 mb line until october 07 howver i was still only getting the speed of 1mb during that time, the upgrade came suddenly and was a welcome suprise, download speeds shot up, the internet connection was reliable and i thought after numerous dropped connections and terrible speeds that all problems were finally sorted since unbundling... wrong i should have know, after about 3 weeks the connection caved in and i couldnt stay connected all day, the speed was so slow some sites actually timed out, it eventually picked up after about 2 weeks of useless speed then dropped back down again, im not getting about 100k a sec at best even tho the router reports im still on an '8mb' line. to be honest i cant be arsed to ring them because i know from experience how useless they are, ive heard sky aint too sharp either but anythings better than this fodder

This is perhaps the most regrettable mistake I have ever done to sign up to this minnie mouse Carphone Warehouse broadband alias Talk Talk. I cannot remember the last time I had a connection. I cannot wait for my contract to end and switch to a reputable and dependable ISP.

I have been waiting 7 days for my phone service to be restored I have spent a minimum of 2 hours a day either n the phone to, or trying to get through to them. Every operator you speak to tells a different story- and story it i! even at the highest level of escalated complaints I am unable yo find out what engineers have discovered after 7 days of testing my line.

I recieved the non-wireless modem within a week and a half, had troubles with the installation of the modem but managed to install in half an hour and go online. It doesn't feel like 8mb to be honest and the installation of my previous ISP along with their modem was sooo much more easier! I just recieved the wireless modem in a week after getting the non-wireless and to be honest, it's all worth it!

I'm lucky enough that my phone line and internet still work (although at best at 1Mb) but know of 2 people personally (who unfortunately I'd advised to have it installed) who have had problems with theie phone lines. Once you have a problem you really get to understand how absolutely amateur TalkTalk actually is and believe me you'll come back to update this site from a very very different opinion of their service. After calling the support staff in India for 4 weeks (about 10/12 times) and each time being asked the same fault diagnosis questions followed by a "threat" that you may be charged £140 to have the problem fixed!! Only after explaining that I actually have the technical knowledge (most people don't!) to determine that the fault lay outside of the one of the properties did they actually determine where the problem was and fix it even though they had told my friend at least 5 times that they couldn't find a fault with the line!! It could be BT playing games too though.

I agree 100% with all these reviews. If only I'd read them first! DON'T DO IT!! How I regret the day I was seduced from nice freindly fast Waitrose.com by the lure of 'free broadband for life'. My phone line hasn't worked properly since I signed up; broadband was very slow - and now I can't get a broadband connection atall! they say it's becasue I use an extension lead from the BT socket to my computer - but all worked perfectly before. What IS the problem; does anyone know why their phone lines/modems/broadband connections just don't work?!

I have been with TalkTalk for two years now. I have enjoyed ocassional periods of hassle free web surfing, but for the most part it has been a waste of time and money - more time than money. It took several months to have broadband put in, and I now suffer from continuous line disconnections. There is no helpline in practice, as no-one ever answers. TalkTalk is the worst supplier I have every had to endure in memory. Using TalkTalk could drive you to mental ill-health.

TalkTalk Intl3 cost per month for calls incl Intl, line rental and broadband was less than the monthly cost of just broadband from Pipex - so I migrated. Phone service AOK - but broadband AWFUL... like everyone it took 6 months to get - and well it's free so what can you expect. Trouble... erratic connection - intermittant during 'heavy' time periods. Technical support - just read the other reviews - my experience entirely - some guy in India telling me to check the speed or something idiotic. Frustrating.... So AVOID - dont just look at the comparisons in terms of COST, DOWNLOAD, SPEED - think of SERVICE.... Pipex it was great - phone a London number, get a knowledgeable guy to help. TalkTalk - you are ON YOUR OWN - got a problem - dont even bother you gotta live with it - It suggests I dont make libellous comments - reckon this a great idea - maybe TalkTalk will sue me and I can then have a forum to tell the world what crap their service is.... Beware the MARKETING SPIEL!!!

I am currently trying to get out of my talk talk contract on the grounds that they are not delivering the service I am paying for. I was enticed by the nice price and yes we are saving alot of money but we have a internet service that cuts out for ten minutes every evening. They tell us to phone a technical help line that costs us money but doesn't help. The phone line is also dead some times or it cuts off calls or is just really fuzzy. The staff are very unhelpful and incredibly rude. Alot of them have no idea about anything technical, they stick you on hold and forget about you for 15 minutes or just hang up! I beleive Talk Talk have bitten off more than they can chew with offering free broadband and they just can't meet the demand with a good quality service. Honestly aviod like the plague, if you are trynig to save money you would be better off without broadband rather than paying carphone warehouse/ talk talk a pen. Just look how many complaints there are!!!!

Boy is this 'broadband' slow! Sorry I can't help anyone correct any problems as the 'technical assistance' is non-technical! luckily I retained my old broadband on another number (although I did change that no to talk talk) with plusnet. I now compare the two... very interesting. I can rule out the phone connection, the third party web sites, etc - it just leaves talk talk broadband, their supplied hardware or their supplied software i.e the problem is squarely on talk talk broadband. Timed access to hotmail... plusnet under a second, talk talk 5 minutes!!! I am a Quality Assurance Consultant and have been interested in the Carphone Warehouse - no wonder they trade talk talk under a different name! Two words.... customer commitment... there ain't none.

been with talk talk for 12 months ,and it s been fine then i bought my son WORLD OF WAR CRAFT and then problems started.it kept disconecting after 2 mins after having pc and internet checked,i finally discovered that talk talk does not support p2p,when asked they told me that they did, and could not understand why my game wouldnt play . eventuelly after hours of talking to different tech support people . i was told to read the small print and they admitted that they didnt allow games to be played. i cant even cancel for 5 months so i am stuck with a game that wont play and a very unhappy boy.i WILL NOT be renewing with them,if you only wont the basics its been fine but for me NO WAY

LOSS OF FREE CALLER PACKAGE......Upon taking out broadband with Talk Talk ...... I have logged over six HOURS of calls between Talk Talk and One Tel and STILL the problem is not resolved, in fact it's worse now than when I began. To summarize my situation and keep it short I'll number the points. 1. I've been a happy customer of OneTel for around six years. 2. I'm told Talk Talk are buying One Tel and they will be one and the same. 3. I see a free broadband offer from Talk Talk and thinking that I'm with then (my bills come on their headed paper) I decide to take up the offer. 4. Note, I have three mobile phones on contract with OneTel at this point. 5. I have great difficulty again understand the representative - although he was very polite and courteous.....He tells me I will pay £15 for first two months then it will be free. He also suggests a better alternative package for landline which I also opt for. 6. End of call. 7. I find that my free caller group package with OneTel is cancelled and I've been charged for all calls between the three mobiles and our home landline. 8. Call Talk Talk ....they tell me to speak to OneTel....I say "but you're the same company!"... 9. Then the six plus hours of calls start.....obviously they're making the profit on those too! The bottom line is that OneTel categorically state that because I took out broadband with Talk Talk I can no longer have the free caller package although the rep at Talk Talk failed to mention this. They told me I'm no longer a customer of theirs??? And that this package isn't available to NEW customers??? BUT they stated that the mobiles ARE still registered with One Tel....On this basis how can I be a new customer??? One company refuses to talk to the other due to data protection??? Although they were happy to pass my bank details across for the direct debit! I have sent the modem back to Talk Talk and want nothing to do with them All I want is to get back the free caller group package back - I'm sure there must be others in the same position....if so please register your comments!

I had the talktalk telephone service at my previous address but did not take up the broadband offer as I was about to move. Once I moved I took the Talk3 International call plan which allowed me to phone my friends in Oz for free and also the Broadband which costs about £30 per month. The initial wait for install was a bit poor as I didn't get broadband for almost 3 months from order but once connected it has been fine. At first I could only have 2meg but in the last few weeks I've been upgraded to 8meg (Very Cool). I felt I should write a review as it mostly seems to be people with bad experiences, there are those of us out there who LIKE YES LIKE talktalk I wonder how many people would write good reviews when they've simply got what they signed up for as opposed to someone with a bad experience who wants to tell the world. I should however point out I am an IT Manager using my own equipment not what talktalk sent me.

typical lying thieving practice we have come to expect from talk talk, was one of onetels 1st customers years ago and couldn't fault them, since cauldwell and co came on board and gave all the work to india its been nothing but hassle. with indian teleworkers reading incessantly from sripts you never get the help you need and after many hours spent on hold i am trying to have my service provided by a professional reputable company only to find my line has a tag on it(an illegal act i believe). My advice is to send a letter demanding a reply to the now chief exec/chairman of talk talk addressing it private and confidential (therfore it cannot be legally opened by anyone else) sent recorded delivery too. Cauldwell creamed off his fortune then ran leaving a shitty mess for the 100,000s of very dissatisfied customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TOO.

Stay away, its awful, they can't hold a connection to save a life. I regularly have to reset the internet as the connection is lost. Internet is at its worst during a stom, which is understandable, but even in light rain it dissconects. Talk Talk reel you in with their free broadband then once they get you hooked in their 18 month contract you realise that you have just made the biggest mistake of your life. After you've waited 3 months for your modem you wait a little longer for them to connect you to their line, then it biggins, EXTREMLY SLOW internet(8mb my arse) that never keeps the connection, then when you ring up for help, your directed to bloody india who have no idea how to help. Recently we were told by talk talk, after many complaints from us, that they have boosted our internet speed to 2mb, this seemed great at face value but in fact we had sacrficed, unknowilngly the poor connect we had to that whcih was even worse... we still only have half mb speed, and poor downloads

Worst ISP ever came across, with free broadband you are expected not to moan but this appallingly. 8mb broadband in theory will allow for up to 1024kB/s download speed. Currently getting around 10-20kB/s - even during the day! Evenings go down to 5kB/s. Currently awaiting phone call from OPEL TELECOM (the guys you provide the Internet for TalkTalk) to explain this a pathetic excuse of a broadband connection. My dial-up connection 7 years ago was much better. DO NOT get broadband from TalkTalk!!!

Avoid Talk Talk like the plague! I have had nothing but problems with them. All the usual things said on here - crap customer service, slow and non existant broadband, rubbish email service. I am sitting here waiting for TT to call me back as promised, they are only two hours late at the mo. One thing, When I was on the phone to the 'customer service' dept the other day, the operator asked me if my phone line worked ok. I said it did. She then replied that if the phone line was ok, the broadband is the free part of the package, and as I am not paying for it, I've got nothing to complain about. This sums TT up for me. AVOID!!!!

TALK TALK is a joke, been without broadband for 2 months now. My husband had spent endless hours on the phone to in-breads in India who don't know anything. An annoying thing with their help line is that they don't seem to record what has been discussed and therefore when you ring back you have to go through all the basics again (yes, the modem is plugged in! Jesus!). Wished we had never joined. Yes, things where fine and dandy at first but when it goes wrong (and it will) you'll be left out to dry. DON'T JOIN!!!

TalkTalk are absolutely useless, their technical department for Broadband consists of a few chaps in India armed with a pamphlet on broadband and little else, they cannot give any advice whatsoever, I spent 2 hours on the phone today to various amoeba and guess what? My broadband service is STILL useless. How these people are not classed as crooks is beyond me, they take money and do not give the promised service - that's crooked, surely? But somehow they escape the censure of the law. Reminds me of Amstrad and their useless stereos ... oh, but Alan Sugar was knighted, so what help can we expect? These people are disgusting. They ignore emails, do not call back when they say they will, they admit NOBODY in TalkTalk is trained to use their Philips router ... and so on and so on. Ever wondered why the heads of these companies get rich? By screwing everybody else. Yes, obvious I know, but I have always held out for a last shred of decency in people ... not any more! :(

Possibly the worst experience of my life in dealing with a company. Had to waiti nearly 3 months to be connected and even then nothing had arrived. This however was just the start. I decided to cancel and had no end of trouble trying to do so. Several hour long phone calls constantly put on hold and then having the phone put down on you nearly sent me into despair! I sent two letters and many emails wishing my intent to leave this abysmal compnay. During this period I was still being billed by TalkTalk despite not having any kind of service. After cancelling the DD with them I soon heard back with threats to send the baylifts round and court summons. Eventually I managed to cancel but this was still not the end. Another 2 months passed and then I recieved the modem kit in the post, I was furious! I sent it straight back as return to sender. The next thing I know TT are trying to bill me for the kit they sent me despite the contract I had with them ended 2 months prior! AVOID TALKTALK!!

I ignored all the bad press and took the Talk Talk plunge. Works perfectly, with a wireless modem giving access via both my 6yr old Windows98SE machine and my WindowsXP notebook. Had to phone customer support just once, via the freephone number listed on their wireless modem box, and had excellent helpful advice from a voice in India who knew exactly what was needed and sorted the problem. Well done, Carphone Warehouse.

Dear everybody BE AWARE FROM TalkTalk I placed an order Talk3 International package on Jan 15th 2007. TalkTalk failed four times to connect my broadband. This is the fifth month since I signed up that order and till now my broadband service is not activated. I paid two bills and received a third with no broadband service. Each time they gave me a different excuse for their failure. TalkTalk’s Customer Service is rubbish and their executive officer can do nothing. They are big liars, they know how to send their bills but do nothing to their customers’ complaints. I have very bad experience with TalkTalk with a lot of inconvenience and frustration. I advise you to be away from their poor service. Their offer is very attractive but their service is very poor. Again, BE AWARE FROM TalkTalk.

Dear everybody BE AWARE FROM TalkTalk I placed an order with TalkTalk,"Talk3 International package", on Jan 15th 2007. PANTS - worst move I've made. Broadband hardly ever works, when it does it so slow or drops the line all the time only to say it don't have a dial tone to connect. Phone line went down for three day with out any reason Call display and ringback never works and customer service ......... well don't bother. Sorry BT I take it all back

I am self employed and need reliable access to the net TALKTALK is the worst decision I have made. Not one single time when I am on that the system does not breakdown. Their system has somehow managed to take away my ring tone from my landline and their customer service is only of any use if you can contact someone in this country who is not reading from a idiot board. I will be changing as soon as I can. style over substance. Mr Dunstone please take note

Talktalk is good as a no-frills basic service. Download speeds are fast. The installation CD is simple to use. Customer Services are very friendly, and try to be helpful. News server does not seem to exist, but what do you expect from a free service, that does give you an excellent telephone service at a much cheaper rate than BT? Hang on in there, things are improving all the time. There are bound to be teething troubles because the demand was so overwhelming. I was paying £14.99 a month for a dial-up connection before I joined Talktalk for free broadband, now that really did give me something to complain about.

Shocking! avoid like the plague..switched from BT 2 weeks ago where i was getting 1-1.5mb download speeds constantly, but they were a bit pricy. Since swapping i have had download speeds of 74kb - 200kb on average..customer service is the worst i have ever experienced..i have spent every spare moment of the last 2 weeks telephoning TalkTalk, their indian call centres are the worst i have ever called. I finally cracked when last night i rang to speak to their 2nd line for about the 10th time and he told me to go onto the TalkTalk speedtester site...and guess what...THE PAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE!!! his silence was deafening. Switching back to BT landline May 9th and will shop around for a decent suiplier. Looking forward to spending some quality time with the wife and kids instead of TalkTalk!!!

An almost seamless transition from BT to Talk Talk.I have had 1 or 2 small problems that have been sorted. My main gripe is the hours trying to get through to customer services and for those of you a little bit older that infuriating thunderclap Newman " Something in the air" song being continually played as you wait for the phone to be answered. However if you e mail customer services or the help line they respond quite quickly. Generaly speaking the internet and e mail side is good if sometimes slow. The telephone is very good and I have saved quite a bit. All in all I think the package is good

JOINED TALKTALK WHEN THEY FIRST STARTED THE "FREE BROADBAND" OFFER. PROBLEMS RIGHT FROM THE START SOME OF WHICH I MANAGED TO OVERCOME MYSELF AT EXTRA COST. THE CURRENT PROBLEM WHICH HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 4 MONTHS NOW, SINCE MY LINE WAS UNBUNDLED, IS NO CALLER DISPLAY AND THE PHONE NOT RINGING PROPERLY. THIS THEY SAY IS DUE TO A SOFTWARE PROBLEM, BUT WITH NO DATE FOR WHEN IT WILL BE RECTIFIED. WHEN THE SERVICE WORKS AS IT'S SUPPOSED TO IT'S GOOD, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND NEED ASSISTANCE, OH BOY FORGET IT, THERE AINT NONE!.

waited 5 days for my connection to take place, after four calls to customer services they sorted it out. GREAT worth the wait. Anyone who takes up this offer for broadband should not use the USB connection as it has many problems I opted for the ETHERNET CABLE this is a smoother connection. I had 13 months of problems with BT paying for 2meg but only geting 576kbps, the only reply i got was upgrade for an extra charge. SORRY BT but you should look after your customers and not keep answering questions with price increases. GOOD UN TALKTALK.

Started with TT Aug06 never got free broadband. Pissed off with thier non existing customer service costing me a lot of money I went back to BT jan07. TT still sending me bills for service I not had from them since Jan.They even threatened me with debt collectors and say my credit rating at risk. WHY because of thier incompetence and in-ability to contact them. I will see them in court.

I ordered Talk Talk broadband in January, having been a telephone customer for about a year. My Go live date came and went with no broadband connection, and no news. When I eventually managed to speak to a Customer Services rep (beginning of March), they had no idea what was going on. I e-mailed with an ultimatum and was ignored, so phoned to cancel. At this point I was told that it was BT engineers that were dragging their heels over unbundling the exchange. As far as I was aware, this had already been done! I was offered a month free plus immediate connection on a different broadband service that Talk TAlk would fund until they could get me connected on the 8Mb service. However, I would need a MAC code from my current supplier (I had given them one in January). My current Broadband supplier then informed me that they would be offering a competitive product - 8Mb broadband, free anytime phone calls, and free line rental for £17.99 per month - Tiscali! AVOID TALK TALK!!!

I have my broadband service from talktalk. Recently, I have not been receiving some of my emails. For example, I was sent an important email last Friday at 2.43pm and I have still not received this email. If the same happens to previous ‘lost’ emails, I will never receive it. I have emailed talktalk to inform them of previous ‘lost’ emails but I just receive a standard reply apologising for server problems. They do not appear to attach any importance to the fact I have not received important emails. Does talktalk not have a responsibility to deliver my emails? Should I receive any compensation? I would appreciate any advice on sorting this problem with talktalk. Regards Ivan

So far TalkTalk has been LiesLies. I signed up in November 06 and was told I would go live in January 07. Now mid March and still no broadband connection. Customer Services are polite but useless - based in India, they simply say what they think you want to hear i.e. your broadband package will arrive in the next five days. Lies which have been repeated over and over...and there's no way to speak to anyone with a more sensible response. It's a very nice advert and TalkTalk must have spent millions on it - but this money should be put to better use, like customer satisfaction. Avoid like the plague!

Thinking of moving to TalkTalk.... DON'T DO IT If you, you will regret it. Broadband is completely unreliable. I have now gone back to paying a monthly subscription to NTL, just to get a broadband service thats there for more than a couple of hours a day. Caller display onmy phone line has not worked for weeks and TalkTalk say that owing to a software fault in their nre exchanges, it won't be working until at least May 07 (and I'm not holding my breath for that either). Whe I have complained about the Broadband the cheeky swines tell me that its free, so I can't complain. I HAVE BEEN CHEATED.... MAKE SURE YOUR'E NOT ! REMEMBER... TALKTALK.... DON'T GO NEAR IT.

Getting talk talk was the worst thing I ever did too There are at least 2 downtimes a day. My email can take anything from 5 minutes to 8 hours to get delivered over the past 8 weeks. Web pages are generally taking 2 -3 minutes to load up. I am just tearing my hair out. Totally a false economy, don't do it !!

Question?? are reviewers paid by 'BT' ? SINCE SIGNING up with talktalk, yes had 2 days a bit ropey!! mostly due to me running with no filter?? but on the most part still a bit slower than the 8meg promise but all fine, for me and all my known converters. not good for BT I THINK???

Got phone line on ,broadband took 9 months to get up and running the phone service is excellent but dont bother with the broadband the pop3 server is constantly down and webmail suffers from the same problem every time you phone broadband tech support you might as well sto the teletubbies you will get more sense out of them they know nothing all they keep saying is POP 3 servers has problems and will be working in 24hrs they have been telling me that for the last 6 months the broadband is fine but do not reliy on talktalk email I have been having to use hotmail for the last 6 months because the POP 3 server is so unreliable I think their server engineers want sacking ( old saying pay peanuts and get monkeys ) I think they monkeys would be better qulified than their staff on the broadband side. I have always found staff on the telephony side of the network to be very polite and willing to sort problems out the broadband side dont give a monkeys about the customer.

Talk Talk free broad band conection didn't work for us for over a month. After making a number of phone calls to their customer service centre and waiting for many hours in total over the phone, finally sorted out our internet connection 45 days ago. It was working fine until yesterday. It is not connecting to the internet at all. When we did get connected to the 2nd line of support, they say that they have changed the profile and it would take up to 24 hours to change to the new settings. Thay have actually reduced our speed to 500 Kbps but it is still not working. We used to be with One Tel before but it never had any problems. It was slightly expensive but worth the money that we were paying!

I subscribed to talkralk in May 2006 and was connected in June 2006 so that was good. My speed at the time was 2meg with an upgrade date of 'before the end of December 2006'. The upgrade happened on 7th Feb 2007, which wasn't too bad. My connection is now 6meg. I have used a few online speed tests and they report my speed at about 1meg, Not wanting to believe it was that bad I have done a few of my own tests and reached about 4meg transfer speed. Just to note; Adobe Photoshop CS2 (329MB) downloaded in about 19 mins and a simultaneous download from Adobe of Dreamweaver (59.7MB) downloaded in 5mins. I then downloaded Microsoft Expression Web Trial software whilst CS2 was still downloading. The Microsoft speed was about 1meg and when CS2 had finished Microsoft's speed increased to about 2meg. All in all I am very happy with talktalk and find it good value. I have had no probs with the phone although I did need to buy 3 extra microfilters (eBay £1 each) to connect the to other extensions.

Bad, bad, bad. If you want to pay out money, don't have a need for a house phone, but have a mobile to spend hours speaking to customer services on premium rate numbers, and have no need for broadband, then Talk Talk is the one for you!!! Talk Talk have expanded too quickly and whilst they continue to advertise, they don't even have the capacity to service existing customers - this I got from one of their own engineers! They're absolutely appalling, are treating their existing customers with contempt, and my advice would be "don't touch them with a bargepole"!

I have had some hiccups with TalkTalk Broadband since getting it in July 2006, but it seems fine at present. I tried to use Wireless with a Buffalo Router passed on to me by my son. It worked for a while, crashed a couple of times, and then I even lost the broadband connection. I ditched the wireless, and went back to the TalkTalk modem, though still needed a phone call to India to get it all reconfigured and working again. The guy in India was quite good, and helped me delete all the stuff that was causing conflicts, but sadly I have no wireless. I am thinking of taking the plunge and buying the TalkTalk router, if only to get the instructions on how to set it up, since TalkTalk would not give help for other makes of Router. Reading the emails on this site suggests lots of people have bother setting up and keeping wireless networks going.

Awful presently - had probs initially with changing from other provider etc. Then service was very unreliavble for a while. I bought my own modem as theirs is faulty and things for a while seemed good. They then decided to "upgrade" the local exchange yesterday and since then the servie is on for 3 mins, off for 30 and then on/off like this. It keeps disconnecting in the middle of downloads etc. Customer service - what customer service? Someone in India who hasn't a clue about how to sort out the problem isn't service! CURRENTLY, I'D SAY AVOID UNTIL THEY SORT THEMSELVES OUT. IT'S NOT WORTH THE HASSLE

BEWARE! Been with talk talk for 3 months now. Only had an internet connection for about 15 minutes all together. Customer Service was terrible, was past from pillar to post at least 10 times. Each call was getting longer and longer. Was disconnected on several occassions. One call actually lasted 62 minutes. Also if the internet was plugged in it would interfere with the phone line, causing a servere crackling on the line. Give this service amiss. i am now looking for a new provider.

i was originally a talktalk phone only customer but upgraded to free broad band package in august 2006 at first it was tickety boo for at least 5 months then it went wrong i kept getting error 680 no dialing tone phoning customer services was pointless because it is in india they don t understand you and you can understand them you get told to do numerous things to fix it none of them work spend pounds calling them. they actually cut us off even though the bill was being paid and they could not tell us why we had been cut off anyway have cancelled it now gone to ntl dont be fooled that you are stuck to your contract you can cancel it talktalk would rather lose business than suffer bad press TALK TALK IS MORE LIKE MUMBLE MUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where do i start? started off having to phone customer support for my user name and password, ok not too bad , then 1 month down the line they upgrade me to 2 meg which would have been great had i not been miles from my exchange so couldnt connect, now every evening i disconnect every 2 mins or so, customer service is shocking, call centre is in india, this isnt the problem its the fact you are trying to explain a problem to someone i can barely understand or understand me, then they
