Fastest Wireless Provider

Winner: Starlink

"Elon Musk's Starlink satellite broadband is head and shoulders above the competition in the wireless broadband market.

"It uses low-orbit satellites to beam down a broadband connection wherever you are in the UK. That makes it perfect for customers who don't have access to a decent fixed-line connection.

"The service doesn't come cheap, though. There's a hefty £460 signing up fee to get the hardware, with the monthly cost set at £75. This high barrier entry fee may put off some customers.

"However, once you've signed up and received your hardware, you can take your broadband wherever you go. This could have great appeal for customers with holiday homes, or those who enjoy camping in the wilderness."

Best CustomerCare

Winner: Origin Broadband

"Customer care and service is a crucial aspect of any broadband provider. We're proud to crown Origin as the best for looking after its customers.

"3 out of the top 5 providers - Origin, Cuckoo and iTalk, all have smaller customer bases than some of the more established brands. If customer service is important to you, it may be worth looking into smaller and niche providers."

Most Reliable Provider

Winner: BT Broadband

"There's nothing more frustrating than being hit by broadband issues. So many of us now rely on our home broadband connection for work, on top of our growing digital demands. BT takes home our final award as the most reliable provider.

"The results for 'Most Reliable Provider' were extremely close, with the UK's top 8 broadband providers all within 2% of each other. The fact that BT, Origin, Plusnet, Sky and Now Broadband (among others) all share the same lines through the BT Openreach network, plays a big factor in these results."
